Logan City’s Flagstone has been inundated with services at its new community centre on Trailblazer Drive.
The Uniting Church in Australia, and a local woman named Susan manage the centre, which offers a range of services to the community including immunisation, children’s clinics, support groups, play groups, a food bank, and a range of courses, groups and clubs.
Susan explained the new centre and the benefits of the services they are offering to the community.
“It is a place where community services are offered, where groups can meet, where people can feel safe and where people can learn and grow,” Susan said.
“We hope this is a place you can come and feel welcomed, cared for and respected.
“A great addition to the centre is the women’s counsellor from the Centre for Women and Co.”
Jimboomba police officer in charge, senior sergeant Peter Waugh, said he was impressed with the services available in Flagstone.
“The Flagstone community centre is a welcome addition to the Flagstone community,” senior sergeant Waugh said.
“The services offered by the centre are second to none and I encourage all those that would benefit from the services offered at the centre to make contact.”
Local police will be continuing work within the community and making use of these new support services.
