  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

Ambulances in regional areas will be equipped with cutting edge technology to treat stroke.

The portable lightweight brain scanners will be installed into ambulances on the roads and in the air.

National Stroke Foundation chief executive Sharon Mcgowan says the devices will provide rapid treatment and care to sufferers.

“This will be watched right around the world as it’s the first time ever, such scanners will be made mobile with wide-reaching effect”.
