A verdict has been reached in the trial of three men, accused of murdering a Brisbane man and woman.
The bodies of Iuliana Triscaru and Cory Breton were found submerged in a toolbox in Logan City’s Scrubby Creek back in 2016
Trenth Thrup, Stou Daniels and Davie Tayo faced the supreme court late yesterday, where a jury found them guilty of murder and torture.
A fourth man, Walyn Walker was found guilty of manslaughter.
The court was told Breton and Triscaru were lured to a unit in Kingston on January 24, 2016, over a drug dispute relating to a photo Breton had of Daniels on his phone.
While there, the pair were tied up with zip ties and duct tape, assaulted, forced into the toolbox and kept there for hours.
The box was then loaded onto a ute and driven to Scrubby Creek, where it was dumped in the water.
Crown prosecutor David Meredith said the pair died of asphyxiation or drowning.
He said the killings were “extraordinarily barbaric” and a “breathtakingly evil” act.
All are due to be sentenced next week.
