The member for New England says he wants to make sure those in regional Australia are fully aware the National Party is “batting for them” going into the next Federal election.
His comment comes after the weekend announcement of the new look National Party frontbench line up.
Andrew Gee will replace Darren Chester as Veterans Affairs Minister, while Bridget McKenzie will return to cabinet.
The changes come after Mr Joyce was restored as Nationals leader and Deputy Prime Minster.
Mr Joyce says regional Australia is first and foremost.
“This issue of making sure we get ministers in place is essential.
“Now we’ve ticked that box and we’ll continue on as we get ready next year for an election and make sure the people of regional Australia are absolutely certain that the Nationals and the Liberals and Coalition are in there batting for them”.
