New sewerage treatment plant to service Logan City

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

Plans have been unveiled for the construction of another sewerage treatment plant in the region.

It’s been revealed, the facility would be built at Redland Bay,  however monitoring stations would be established at several locations along the Logan river.

Deputy Premier Steven Miles intervened in the ongoing approval process for the sewerage plant to be built.

His decision came late last week as land developer Lendlease needed the facility to service its latest planned housing estate, under construction at Redland Bay.

Last February,  the Lendlease plan was voted down by Logan City Council.

It will be the 4th Sewerage treatment plant on the Logan River.
