From today, huge fines will be imposed on anyone who fails to wear a mask or follow police direction.
As of 1:00 this-morning, it became mandatory to wear a mask in Logan City, the Gold Coast and the Scenic Rim and several South East Queensland local government areas.
Masks will be required to be worn atleast for the next fortnight..
Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Golschewski says officers will be out in force….
“As always we will work with our community to make sure they can comply with those directions.
“Just remember, there’s a $200 fine for failing to wear a mask/
“If directed by a police officer to wear one and still refusing to wear one there’s a $1334 fine that can then be applied”.
The mandatory mask wearing conditions came into force at 1:00 this-morning.
