Following the Queensland Government’s snap lockdown across South East Queensland in response to the latest COVID-19 outbreak, Scenic Rim Regional Council wishes to advise the following changes effective  from 4pm yesterday until 3.59pm, Tuesday 3 August.

Essential services

At this stage, Council essential services are still operating, including waste collection services, transfer stations and land fill sites, road and parks teams, as well as animal management, licensing and permit applications, and building, plumbing and development approvals. We will communicate any impacts to services for our communities if this changes.

Customer service and administration centres

Council’s Customer Service and Administration Centres will be closed on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 August. There are many other ways that Council can help the community without face-to-face interaction. If you have any Council enquiries, please:

Libraries and community and cultural centres and activities

Scenic Rim Regional Council libraries (including outreach services) and community and cultural centres will be closed on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 August.  Library online services are available.

Be Healthy & Active Program activities suspended for Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 August.

Council parks, playgrounds and BBQs

Community members are allowed to use Council parks for physical exercise only, and must practise physical distancing in line with Queensland Government health guidelines. However, the public are not to use any exercise equipment as per Queensland Government health directives.

In addition, in line with Queensland Government health directives, playgrounds and barbecues must not be used.

Community swimming pools

Our community swimming pools remain closed for winter until the September school holidays.

Council-controlled campgrounds

No new visitors will be able to book in to Council’s controlled campgrounds until restrictions are lifted.
