The lockdown impacting Logan City, the Scenic Rim and 9 other local government areas will be extended to Sunday at 4pm due to an increase in Covid positive cases over the past 24 hours.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles made the announcement as he also confirmed the 2021 EKKA will be cancelled.
“Stay off the roads” was another plea from the Deputy Premier.
“There are too many cars on the roads. This is a different lockdown than before. Do not go to work if you can work at home”.
It was a comment supported by Queensland Health Officer Doctor Jeannette Young.
“Stay at home, unless you really and truly can’t do your job at home”.
“If you are outside the south-east corner, please get tested aswell. I don’t know where this virus has moved”.
Keep wearing your mask.
