The RACQ is urging Darling Downs motorists to fill up the tank now, with fears petrol prices could hit eye watering new highs in coming weeks.
The Club warns the average price of unleaded petrol could soon reach 190 cents per litre , cracking previous records set just three weeks ago.
RACQ spokeswoman Renee Smith says while the average cost of unleaded in Toowoomba is 161.1 cents per litre at the moment it’s likely to jump before the end of the month.
