Briana Dinsdale Band shines at Eagleby Truck and Tunes night

Rising Logan country music star Briana Dinsdale has shone in her final performance before heading off to Tamworth to join the Country Music Academy.

On a balmy Saturday night in Eagleby, the Briana Dinsdale Band performed in a relaxed atmosphere at the Distillery Road Markets overlooking the Albert River.

Logan’s newest country and folk ensemble put in a quality performance, headlined by Briana’s clear, sweet country lead vocals, and ably supported by her fellow band members including sister Ashlyn who also showed off her vocal skillset.

This week’s Truck and Tunes event, which takes places regularly on Friday and Saturday night’s in the shadows of a new shopping centre development, was well-attended.

Patrons who were able to enjoy an array of food and drink from a line of food and craft beer trucks were treated to a lively performance from the young band.

The Briana Dinsdale Band enjoys the night in a break from singing (l-r): Jackson Thomson, Ashlyn Dinsdale, Briana Dinsdale, Matt Bannan-Cane and Brodie Campbell.

A mouth-watering array of food and drink was on offer, with bratwurst, wicked wings, Italian, Hungarian and South-East Asian food.

Children were able to amuse themselves at the event’s own mini Sideshow Alley underneath the bulk of the new Distillery Road Market complex, which is still under construction.

The Briana Dinsdale band played three sets which featured a mix of Fleetwood Mac covers, and songs from the band’s new album “beginnings”

While the band was taking a break Christmas songs from Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby filled the air and the chatter of locals provided a comforting backdrop to the music.

People were there to celebrate a big occasion, have a fun night out with their families, or to just escape the pressures of their daily lives.

I spoke to one man who took his extended family out to the Sugar Creek Smokehouse at Distillery Road for dinner to celebrate his birthday, and then brought them around the corner to Truck and Tunes.

“I’m celebrating my 31st birthday tonight here.

“I’ve been to pubs and clubs in my twenties, but I’m a bit old for that.

“This place is great, and gives the kids a chance to run around and have fun.”

The event’s location between the Gold Coast and Brisbane makes it an attractive proposition for people looking to enjoy an entertaining evening with their families.

Briana Dinsdale Band, on their third time playing at the location, put in an entertaining performance.

Sisters Briana and Ashyln combined ably at the front of the band, with guitarist Brodie Campbell playing some smooth jangly riffs.

The band’s chemistry and the close harmonies on one of the their signature tracks “Ball and Chain” was a great way to cap off the night.

After bringing the wrong guitar to his previous gig, Jackson Thomson didn’t make that mistake again , while drummer Matt Bannan-Cane provided the core of the band’s music with a driving performance on the drums.

The event showed that the band is starting to gain some recognition among Logan locals.

By the end of the night, an older man came up to me, assuming that I was the sound technician for Truck and Tunes.

“Where can I get the CD?”
