Seven highway patrol officers have taken up their positions at Beaudesert Police Station.
The team of officers headed by Sergeant Sean O’Donovan settled into the new facility on Anna Street today. The new facility will also house another three detectives.
The new team was previously attached to the Jimboomba satellite unit of the Logan and Springwood Highway Patrol.
The Beaudesert unit includes marked and unmarked cars and motorcycles to patrol all Scenic Rim roads, especially areas where there have been serious accidents or deaths.
With school holidays now extended Sergeant Donovan says motorists need to remain calm, and slow down on all roads in the region.
