Logan City Council’s worm farm rebate is now being offered to residents of the city.
The compost bin and worm farm rebate program is designed to make it easier for locals to divert their food and garden waste from landfill. It is estimated that approximately half the contents of household wheelie bins are comprised of organic material.
The program provides a rebate of up to $50 for as many as 50 households in each of the City of Logan’s 12 electoral divisions.
Residents can apply for a $50 rebate towards the cost of a compost bin, a compost aerator, a worm farm or Bokashi composting system (one rebate is available per household).
Reducing green waste going to landfill and encouraging aerobic composting also helps to reduce carbon emissions and supports Council’s commitment to building climate resilience with the community and across the organisation.
More information on the rebate program is available at Compost bin and worm farm rebate – Logan City Council.
