Children bored at home these school holidays? Join Balance Martial Arts free program this week at Yarrabilba
With the extension to school holidays for Queensland students, parents are looking for different ways to entertain the kids – but Logan City locals look no further.
Through the support of Logan City Council, Balance Martial Arts will this week be offering an intensive martial arts program for youth, 18 years or under, in Yarrabilba.
From the 10th to 14th, kids will get the chance to head to Yarrabilba State Secondary College for the free 5-day program, which includes lunch, morning and/or afternoon tea each day to the first 50 applicants.
Craig Postlewaight, founder of Balance Tae Kwon Do, says the not-for-profit organisation Balance Martial Arts began this year.
“We wanted to take our tae-kwon-do school from a hobby martial arts into giving back to the community,” Craig says.
“We’re targeting at-risk youth and those that don’t fit into every day sports.
“It’s a fun environment and very inclusive.
“We’ll be running another one next school holidays as well.”
Interested people should email Professor Nan Bahr firstname.lastname@example.org with names, ages, nature and extent of any previous martial arts training (if at all … raw beginners are welcome).
