Kingston woman nabbed for drink driving

A Kingston woman has been charged with high range drink driving, after she was caught driving more than four times over the legal limit. 

Police from Logan District Highway Patrol were conducting mobile patrols along Queens Road, Kingston on Tuesday, when they intercepted a 31-year-old Kingston woman for the purposes of a roadside breath test (RBT).

The driver allegedly returned a positive roadside breath test at this time.

Upon completing breath analysis, it is alleged the woman returned a reading of 0.223 BAC.

As a result, a the woman was charged with driving under the influence of liquor and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 28.

Drink driving is one of the major killers on Queensland roads.

On average, 50 people are killed and more than 550 are seriously injured each year on Queensland roads as a result of drink driving.
