The RACQ is urging motorists in Logan and the Scenic Rim to drive to the conditions on the wet and slippery roads.
Spokesperson Lauren Cooney says now is not the time to be complacent on the roads.
“Our advice to people is to stay home if you can. We’ve already seen plenty of accidents on the roads this morning but if you do need to head out make sure you drive to the conditions, leave plenty of room between you and the car in front, turn your lights on, slow down and be patient and of course never drive through floodwaters.”
Ms Cooney says they’re aren’t many road closures in the Scenic Rim and Logan at the moment but there is some flash flooding in Currumbin valley and Washpool.
“The situation is evolving and changing quickly throughout the day so make sure you are checking the road conditions and delay your travel if you can.”
You can get information of the effects of any flooding on the roads from the RACQ road conditions website.
