Logan and the Scenic Rim aren’t expected to be hit by any serious weather related issues today caused by the rain falling across the south east corner of Queensland.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster, Helen Reid says the storm system is only dumping relatively light rain on both regions at the moment.
“ Through Logan and the Scenic Rim we’re looking at it being a showery day with rain developing and coming into the region. There might be one or two breaks in there but there will also be heavier patches as well”.
Ms Reid says total rainfall for the day is expected to get up to 50 millimetres but one of two places might get more than that amount of rain.
“ We are watching the rivers systems very closely to see if there are going to be any issues with flooding but at this stage we’re not issuing a warning just yet”
She adds that,”Rivers are expected to rise above flood levels quite easily. So, we’ll be watching how this rainfall in the next day or two continues and whether we will see any problems with the rivers.”
