Logan City pauses for National Police Remembrance Day

In commemoration of National Police Remembrance Day, Logan City police, their families and local community members will pause to pay tribute to fallen officers.

National Police Remembrance Day is held every year to honour police officers across Australia who have lost their lives and ensure the integrity, courage, and bravery of their ultimate sacrifice is never forgotten.

This day is usually marked by a march, followed by a service.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and concerns for the community’s safety, things will be a little different for commemorative activities. Unfortunately, there will be no march or public service held this year.

The Queensland Police Service instead invites locals to remember alongside them by joining in the viewing of a live streamed service on National Police Remembrance Day.

Locals can join the live stream at 10am, on Tuesday September 29.

In the lead up to and on National Police Remembrance Day, members of the community are encouraged to pay tribute by wearing a blue ribbon.

Blue ribbons can be obtained from any police station, with voluntary donations going towards charities; Queensland Police Legacy and Community Supporting Police.
