A Logan City dog trainer is one of two men arrested as part of a joint investigation into a sophisticated terrorist network.
The 34 year-old was arrested on Thursday at Chambers Flat, the same time Federal police pounced on a Melbourne man, who’s now facing extradition proceedings to Queensland.
Both are accused of being key players in the operation.
The men are accused of developing networks in Australia, Turkey and Syria that helped Australians get into Syria to fight for Jabhat al-Nusra in 2012 and 2013.
According to a police statement, The men are alleged to have played senior roles in a South-East Queensland-based syndicate who maintained religiously motivated violent extremist ideology and a desire to travel to Syria to engage in hostile activities.
Federal Police investigations are continuing.
