Snapfresh is Australia’s leading readymade meal manufacturer and it’s based in Crestmead.
Founded in 2001, employing 170 locals, the company exported meals globally to a range of customers, including airlines
Pre-COVID, the snapfresh business was predominantly B2B, specialising in portion controlled and bulk supply readymade meals for a variety of industries including retail brands and outlets, health care, the aged care sector, government departments and many other businesses including airlines.
Then, Covid 19 hit. With many Australian industries hit hard with the global pandemic, the company realised it needed to innovate and pivot, taking the snapfresh brand direct to consumers, creating single serve readymade meals, bakery items, dessert and snacks.
“Bring some certainty to the future” according to Lou D’alessio, Head of Retail and Hospitality
“Our snapfresh retail project has been born out of a desire to get our employees back to work”
- We use industry leading technology to spiral freeze the products, which maintains the products taste, integrity, quality and nutritional value. They are unlike any frozen meal you have had in the past – they are so good that once heated, you wouldn’t know they had been frozen.
They’ve been working on the snapfresh retail project since earlier this year, with the view of diversifying their revenue streams and a goal of creating work to enable them to get employees back to work.
The project has been turned around in record time with a long term view of creating a brand that can compete in the readymade meal market, thanks to world class award winning chefs.
The snapfresh online store was launched to the public in August 2020. The website can be found HERE
