A 47-year-old Sergeant from South Eastern Region has been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.

The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear in the Southport Magistrates Court for the charge of dangerous operation of a vehicle, pursuant to the Criminal Code.

The Queensland Police Service says that in keeping with its commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, it has undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.

This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.

The South East Region includes Logan City.
