Woodridge MP and Treasurer Cameron Dick said as part of his extra new portfolio of Investment, one of his main aims will be to lead Queensland out of its economic downturn brought on by COVID-19.
Mr Dick said attracting businesses to places like Logan City would help lead the recovery and create local jobs.
He said this could be achieved by using levers of government such as attraction funds, payroll tax and other incentives, to make it worthwhile for interstate and overseas companies to relocate to Queensland.
Mr Dick was given the additional investment portfolio as part of the new look state cabinet that was sworn-in on Thursday.
