CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, and to celebrate the season, MyNewsFeed, Rebel 90.5 FM and the Breeze 92.1 FM, is running a Light Up Logan Christmas Lights Competition for 2020.

The competition is encouraging Logan City residents to decorate their home or business in an array of dazzling Christmas lights, festive inflatables or sparkling Santa statues in the hopes of winning the $1,000 prize.

There are three categories winners can vie for, which are residential, acreage and business.

The Light Up Logan Competition is now open for registrations from Logan locals with stand-out light displays.

“With everything that has been happening in 2020, at My News Feed Logan, we felt it was really important to really put the spotlight on this wonderful tradition in Logan,” said Group General Manager, Cheryl Jowitt.

“There are so many Logan residents that really go out of their way to light up the City in the lead up to Christmas that we, and our local radio stations, Rebel 90.5 FM and the Breeze 92.1 FM, wanted to inspire more people to take part.

“We’d love to see businesses enter this year and dress up their businesses to help customers get in the Christmas spirit.”

Logan Regional Chamber of Commerce President, Chyerl Pridham, said encouraging local businesses to come together is very important, especially this year.

“It’s all about the good,” Ms Pridham said. “It’s been a tough year for everyone this year, not just business owners but the community, and I think this competition will most definitely have a positive impact.

Entry to the competition is free, and the winner will be chosen by popular vote.

Entrants will have their address published on the Light Up Logan 2020 Christmas Lights competition page for their suburb and promoted on social media.

To enter the competition, a photo of the light display needs to be uploaded to the MyNewsFeed entry page, here. Entries will close 18th December, 2020.
