Life is returning to normal in Logan City, in the wake of yesterday’s chaotic storm, however traces of the destruction can still be found laying around.
The storm hit South East Queensland hard on Sunday afternoon, with a reported 30,000 lightning strikes, golf ball sized hail, trees uprooted, and power lines down.
Drivers were caught in blinding conditions along the M1 as they crawled along during the storm.

In Underwood, on the corner of Springwood and Logan Rd, a tree was struck by lightning.
The traffic lights were out for a significant period of time, and there is still debris to be found.
The weather bureau says a month’s worth of rain fell in just 20 minutes.
The weekend’s weather event has come earlier than expected, with storm season not “officially” due to begin until December.
Forecasters say South East Queensland will continue to be hit with more wild weather over the coming months.
