Parts of Logan City and the Scenic Rim have spent Sunday night cleaning up after multiple storms moved across South East Queensland.
At one stage, the powerful Sunday afternoon storm caused chaos on the M1 with many motorists caught in blinding conditions.
In Underwood, roads lost traffic signals when power was cut.
In one area, a tree took a direct hit from a bolt of lightning.
The weather bureau says a month’s worth of rain fell in just 20 minutes.
Energex spokesman Danny Donald says crews will be working on Monday to restore power to homes and businesses in Logan City and the Scenic Rim that lost electricity during the storms.
