Logan City’s Bethania Rams Football Club is running a free and fun football program for girls from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Waterford MP Shannon Fentiman took to social media to share her excitement for the program.
“How awesome is this,” she said.
“This awesome program is the first of its kind in Queensland so make sure you check it out.”
According to Football Queensland, Girls United is a “fun and exciting football program for women and girls within Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, designed to eliminate the unique barriers members of CALD communities experience when participating in football.”
“Football Queensland is proud to partner with Football Australia to provide football participation opportunities for women and girls from CALD communities through the Girls United program.
“The football sessions are delivered in a powerful, positive and inclusive learning environment by trained coaches.
“FQ have teamed up with Bethania Rams FC to run the first Girls United pilot program in Queensland.”
Girls United is an 8-week program, with each session exploring both a football skill and a key social and emotional principle through specifically designed football activities and purposeful, safe discussions.
The program will run until March 18. If interested contact the Bethania Rams club.
