Logan police have wrapped up a 10 month long operation targeting drug distribution in the state’s south east.
Detectives have raided 28 properties in Beaudesert, Jimboomba, Yarrabilba, Flagstone, Mundoolun, Stapylton, Tamborine, Josephville, Laravale and Gleneagle as part of Operation Tango-Magnitude.
Thirty people have been charged with 125 alleged drug trafficking, supplying dangerous drugs, armed robbery and weapons offences.
Logan CIB Detective Acting Inspector Nicola Brown said the results reinforce police’s commitment to targeting those involved in alleged criminal activity.
“We know this action will significantly disrupt the drug distribution network throughout south east Queensland.
“Our message is simple – if you want to be a part of this dangerous and criminal behaviour, we will locate you, we will target you, and we will take action.”
Across the two days, police allegedly seized a significant quantity of methylamphetamine, cannabis and GHB, weapons including a shotgun, conducted energy weapons, crossbows, ammunition, drug utensils, a stolen motor vehicle, two stolen jet skis, two stolen motorcycles and approximately $50,000 cash.
During a search of a Beaudesert property on Monday, police allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine, a shotgun, multiple conducted energy weapons, crossbows and $6,000 cash.
Two Beaudesert men aged 35 and 41, and a 23-year-old Beaudesert woman were taken into custody and charged with a range of offences.
The 35-year-old man was charged with a total of 20 offences including four counts of drug trafficking, three counts of possess dangerous drugs, three counts of authority required to possess explosives, and one count each of, trafficking dangerous drugs serious organised crime, armed robbery, unlawful use of vessel, assume designation of police officer, dangerous conduct with a weapon, possess anything used in a crime, possess property suspected of being proceeds of a crime, possess utensils, possess restricted item and unlawful possession of a weapon.
He appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will appear in court again today.
The 41-year-old Beaudesert man was charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drugs serious organised crime, five counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and one count each of possess property possess utensils, possess anything used in the commission of crime, possess property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence and possess dangerous drugs.
He appeared in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday and is next due to appear on Tuesday December 14.
The 23-year-old woman was charged with one count of drug trafficking and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
