State Member for Logan Linus Power is encouraging parents and children to plan their back to-school journeys ahead of the introduction of new and improved services for Term 1, this year.
While Term 1 will now begin on Monday, February 7, new and existing school services will run as planned from next Monday, to ensure students who need to attend school can safely do so.
State Member for Logan Linus Power says services will be in place to service the new Everleigh State School.
“2022 is an exciting year for Logan, with Everleigh State School opening its doors for the first time to students between Prep and Year 6”.
“We’re introducing new bus services to assist all our new Everleigh State School families in making sure their kids get to school safely and on time.
“Park Ridge Transit will be operating the services and I encourage parents to jump online to check out the options for travel”.
Students, parents and guardians can use TransLink’s School Service Finder or Journey Planner or visiting local operator websites before the start of Term 1 to find the right bus and plan their school journey.
“Students should remember to be patient for the first few weeks of the school year while the network is monitored for any service changes that may be required”.
“It is also important to remember that masks are mandatory on all public transport including school bus services. Keep your kids and our bus drivers safe by making sure they have their mask ready to go before jumping on board.”
Primary and secondary school students are eligible for concession fares at 50 per cent of an adult go card fare, while some may be entitled to additional fare assistance such as the School Transport Assistance Scheme.
More information about school travel is available on the TransLink website, via the MyTransLink app or by calling 13 12 30.
