Logan City Council has not yet registered as a Council for the official Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday March 7, however there are still ways for local schools, businesses, and groups to get involved.
According to the Clean Up Australia Day official website of registered councils, Logan City Council has not yet registered. Logan City Council media has been contacted for comment.
But, that won’t stop environmentally savvy Logan City locals from doing their part.
According to the Clean Up Australia Day website there are plenty of ways to get involved, and create your own official event on the day.
“Get involved with Clean Up Australia as a member of the Community. Community includes individuals, friends, family, faith based groups, local community groups and more,” the website reads.
“There are many different options for Businesses looking to organise a Clean Up event or work with Clean Up Australia.
“Youth and School groups include pre and primary schools, high schools, scouts and guides, faith-based youth groups, local youth groups, tertiary education and more.
“What was started thirty years ago, by an ‘average Australian bloke’ who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard has now become the nation’s largest community-based environmental event.”
It has also encouraged locals to contact their council, if they’re not already registered to campaign for it’s involvement.
“Council support is essential to the success of Clean Up Australia events! There are lots of ways your council can get involved,” the website reads.
“We encourage you to make direct contact, and ask them to Step Up to Clean Up to support you.”
