School is back across the state, and it has been an extra special week for Logan City, as the community welcomed San Damiano College.
Member for Logan Linus Power visited the college to see the completed stage 1 of the grounds, and to welcome its foundation students.
“San Damiano College is going to be a fantastic addition to our list of impressive schools we have here in Logan,” he said.
“It was great to see parents and students gathering in the new school hall this morning.
“With Stage 1 now complete and school back for 2021, I want to congratulate all staff on their hard work in preparing the school for the start of their education journey together.
“Thanks also to the hardworking tradies and contractors who worked tirelessly through COVID-19 to ensure the school was ready for the new year.”
The state Government provided $7.5 million under the Capital Assistance Supplementary Scheme (CASS) $500,000 under the State Capital Assistance Scheme (SCAS) and $421,568 under the External Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme (EIS), for the school.
“The Government has invested in this school to provide more education services for local families,” Mr Power said.
“This funding totals just over $8.5 million and has helped bring it to life ready for its’ foundation students who were welcomed to the college today.”
