The announcement was made by premier Annastacia Palaszczuk earlier today.

“We will be extending for another 72 hours those provisions we’ve put in place across greater Brisbane, So, that applies to the hospitals in greater Brisbane, the aged care facilities and the disability services”.

The restrictions  on the number of people allowed to visit the hospital were imposed after a female doctor from the Princess Alexandra Hospital contracted the virus last week..

At this stage there‘s a limit of two parents or carers  visiting the hospital within a 24-hour period to see inpatients, and one parent or carer for outpatients or presentations to emergency.

All staff, patients and families have to wear surgical masks when entering the hospital.
