A manhunt continues on the Gold Coast, which police say is connected to a suspected domestic violence incident from Monday night.
The emergency declaration for several Ormeau streets has now been revoked, with police saying the man has left the scene.
Ormeau State School was included in the exclusion zone, forcing a staggered pick up on Tuesday afternoon, where parents were being let through one car at a time.
Acting Inspector Kevin Gant says the immediate threat to the public has eased.
“We believe he was possibly armed, so we’re looking into those inquiries.”
An extensive search of the area has been conducted and the declared zone is now open.
“We’ll continue to search for him and to try to locate him, so we can resolve the issue”.
Ormeau State School used social media to report that the students were safe.
The school reported on facebook: “Please be advised children are safe, have had their lunch and are working in their rooms,”
