A massive new cannabis farm will be built in the Scenic Rim, fast-tracked by the federal government.

The $330 million hydroganics facility has been granted major project status.

When up and running by 2023, it’s expected to support 140 local jobs and have an estimated turnover of $366 million with 90% of that generated from exports.

The industry is expected to be worth $1.2 billion over the next 10 years.

The exact location of the new facility is being kept under wraps, but it will be built on a local property somewhere in the Scenic Rim.
