Floodwater dangers far from over

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

The Weather Bureau is warning the danger from floodwaters across Logan City and the Scenic Rim is far from over.

Dozens of roads remain out of action from the deluge as the clean up and recovery begins for impacted homeowners and councils.

Forecaster Livio Regano has said the risk hasn’t subsided, just yet.

” Flood always lag well behind the weather, as we know. So, right through southern Queensland now we’ve got a whole lot of flood warnings. We’ve got a major flood warning for the Logan River and a minor flood warning for the Albert River and Warrell Creek”.
