A 19-year-old Kingston man has been charged with the alleged theft of a Lexus believed to have been involved in a crash into a Sunnybank Hills home on Monday.
Police allege the man removed car keys and other personal items from the home belonging to a 58-year-old woman and 68-year-old man before stealing their car.
It’s further alleged he used the couple’s credit cards at a service station at Forestdale.
The man appeared in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody.
A 14-year-old Cherburg boy has also been charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police believe the pair are linked to a group involved in a series of offences prior to and after the crash across Logan, South Brisbane and Ipswich.
A 17-year-old girl remains in hospital in a critical condition as a result of the crash.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
Investigations into the series of offences allegedly committed by the group are ongoing.
