The threat of more severe weather is looming across Logan and the Scenic Rim as the Bureau of Meteorology predicts the possibility of another severe storm later today.
Schools will only be open to vulnerable children and those of essential workers.
Police are warning people to stay at home where possible to make it safer for emergency services crews to do their jobs.
Meanwhile, Queensland Rail crews are working to return services to normal after yesterday’s severe storms damaged tracks, however it’s expected to be several days before the network is fully operational.
On the Gold Coast line trains have returned between Varsity Lakes and Ormeau, with a rail bus in operation between Ormeau and Kuraby.
Flooding on the Beenleigh line has prevented trains from operating to Beenleigh until repairs are completed.
