Police are yet to confirm the identity of the 31 year old woman who died in yesterday’s house fire at New Beith.
An autopsy is currently being carried out on her body and the results are expected to be revealed within the next 24 to 48 hours.
It’s been confirmed the blaze has also claimed the life of 33-year-old Stanley Obi.
Mr Obi was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital after the fire, suffering burns to most of his body and passed away just after 10 o’clock last night.
Police allege the woman broke into Mr Obi’s home, went to his bedroom, doused him and his new girlfriend with petrol and then set the house on fire.
In the act, the woman killed herself and critically injured Mr Obi.
The three children who were in the house escaped unhurt.
The property has been declared a crime scene and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
