Fire Investigators are seeking witnesses to an explosion at a home in Jacaranda Avenue in Kingston late this afternoon.
Police were called to the house at around 5.30 after an improvised explosive device detonated leaving a 52-year-old man with serious non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s believed the man, who is a resident of the house, moved a bucket in the front yard of the Jacaranda Avenue home when it exploded.
An emergency declaration made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) has now been revoked.
A crime scene remains in place with specialist police on scene.
The resident was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious lower leg and concussion injuries.
Investigations continue.
