City of Logan’s new approach to tourism

Logan City Council and the Logan Office of Economic Development gathered a group of community leaders last night to launch the new Tourism branding for The City of Logan. The room was filled with business owners, community group presidents, and elected officials including Mayor Darren Power, Deputy Mayor Jon Raven, and many councilors.

The old “Visit Logan” branding is set to be replaced with “Explore Logan” along with new messaging and brand positioning.

The city is set to embrace a new tourism DNA based on these fundamental points;

  • The Real Deal
  • Surprisingly Different
  • City Vibrance, Small Town Grit
  • Quietly Confident, Wildly Proud
  • Building a Bright Future

Logan Tourism has long been based on overnight stays by people visiting friends and family who live in the city. This makes up 72% of all visitors to the city. The hope is to grow the city’s visitors from Brisbane and The Gold Coast as well as regional Queensland.

The positioning statement for this new branding is

“The City of Logan is a place for those searching for an alternative to a picture-perfect postcard experince. Logan is about trying new experiences and meeting authentic people. A city that is raw, real and diverse in more ways then just the landscape”
