The Australian Esports League (AEL) is very proud to announce that Live Esports is back with the Logan Cup this year.
Leading esports provider AEL is teaming up with Logan City Council to host a 2 Day Live gaming tournament at the Logan Metro Sports & Events Centre.
The 2022 Australian Esports League Logan Cup will offer gamers the chance to compete and win prizes in traditional esports. In addition there will be a free play zone for those who just want to play.
The tournament will be held this Saturday and Sunday with registrations open now on the AEL website.
It will feature two of the most popular esports games – Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League and will run across the weekend with heats and then the finals.
Logan City Council Lifestyle Chair Councilor Laurie Koranski says Council is looking forward to hosting another successful Australian Esports League Logan Cup.
“We are delighted to welcome this exciting event back to our City,” Cr Koranski said. “Esports continues to grow in popularity, and this is a fantastic opportunity for our local gamers to compete on a national platform.”
Division 8 Councilor Jacob Heremaia says the Logan Metro Sports & Events Centre was an ideal location for the online event.
“Our great Logan Metro Sports & Events Centre is designed to support and enable sporting competitions of many kinds – and esports is no exception.”
“We have a passionate community of esports competitors in our city, and it’s fantastic to be able to host this innovative and modern tournament in our own backyard.”
Australian Esports League CEO, Darren Kwan, says the organisation is excited to be partnering with Logan Council to deliver the event.
“It is so important for people within the community to be able to connect, especially now, and esports is the ideal platform to help facilitate these connections.”
The two games selected for this event cater for all levels of players and are both family friendly. During selected matches there will be a live broadcast with commentary which will be streamed for audiences to watch.
