The Member for Forde Bert van Manen said the federal opposition’s official budget reply contains nothing new and is really just a copy of what the government announced on Tuesday night.
Mr van Manen has told MyNewsFeed.com.au that the government’s budget deals with issues of infrastructure in Logan, providing job opportunities and giving businesses incentives to reopen and employ people.

He said these initiatives would benefit taxpayers and businesses in Logan because they are designed to kick-start the local economy.
Mr van Manen said that for a lot of businesses it’s about having confidence that the economy will recover because if people aren’t employed, they can’t help stimulate economic activity and that’s what the government is trying to do with a range of its measures aimed at keeping the economy ticking over.
At the same time, Queensland Labor Senator Murray Watt said major aspects of the ALP’s official budget reply would specifically benefit Logan City and the Scenic Rim.

Senator Watt said Opposition leader Anthony Albanese’s reply Thursday night was all about how to recover from the recession and how to set the country up for the future.
He said investing in childcare and aged care, plus investing in social housing, getting manufacturing going again and investing in apprenticeships would help families in Logan and the Scenic Rim recover from the recession and get back on their feet.
