Logan Basketball is running a new walking program to fill a gap in Logan City and give everyone, no matter their age or level of fitness, the chance to get involved.
Logan Basketball general manager Mitch Young said he was excited about offering a brand new program to the community.
“Walking basketball is low impact and is a fun and social way to get more people to get active and involved in basketball in Logan,” he said.
“It’s aimed at everyone. But specifically for those who might be a bit older or have injuries that mean they couldn’t get involved in basketball typically.
“It’s really just a community initiative to give everyone the chance to try basketball and see the benefits for themselves.”
Even Springwood MP Mick De Brenni thinks “this is a very cool initiative.”
Walking Basketball is for participants across all ages, genders and abilities and helps to maintain and improve health and decrease risk factors associated with sedentary behaviour.
Walking Basketball runs from 10am Tuesday mornings at the Cornubia Park Sports Centre. Sign up here.
