This October Logan City locals can immerse themselves in traditional Indigenous Australian culture as part of a unique experience only in Beenleigh.

Director, owner, and CEO of the Spirit of Red Sands Mike Tamaki said the opportunity to learn about local indigenous culture was 60,000 years in the making.

“We’re doing a day time cultural education program and also the Welcome To Country during the day,” he said.

“This will run for six weeks at Beenleigh.

“The evening experience is quite theatrical from start to finish.”

The day time Welcome to Country experience invites locals to discover ancient Aboriginal customs and rituals from Dreamtime, to the rhythms of the didgeridoo, to participating in all aspects of traditional Aboriginal life, including boomerang painting, and bush tucker tasting.

By night Spirit of the Red Sands commands the spotlight with an award-winning roving dinner and theatre experience that takes you from Dreamtime to 1800’s Australia, when the British and Aboriginal ways of life collide.

Spirits of the Red Sand launched back in 2017 and is a first of its kind experience, exclusive to Beenleigh.

It has been recognised as a true cultural awakening to open local eyes to the history, beauty, and vibrancy of Indigenous Australians.

This school holidays children under 15 can attend for free.
