The number of people infected with COVID-19 in Logan and the Scenic Rim is fewer than yesterday but Queensland has recorded 13 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Statewide there are 8580 new cases, including the new variant of Omicron that has been surfacing around the world.
Out of that total figure Logan has 21,366 infections – a jump of 367 overnight, while the Scenic Rim has hit 1,083 cases – an increase of 13.
Chief health officer Dr John Gerrard says all of those who died were aged in their 60s and above.
Five of those people were unvaccinated and none had received a booster.
There are now 745 cases being treated in hospital, which is down from yesterday, and 41 people in ICU.
