The new Kingston Butter Factory outdoor entertainment space will be anything but the ‘Sound of Silence’ when homegrown musical superstar Dami Im launches another fantastic year of Eats & Beats in the City of Logan.
The Daisy Hill raised songstress, who rose to international fame in the Eurovision song contest, will headline a blockbuster line-up on the KBF outdoor stage on Friday night, February 25.
Dami, who won X-Factor Australia in 2013, earned Australia’s highest ever Eurovision score in 2016 when she finished second to Sweden with her worldwide smash hit Sound of Silence.
She will perform fan favourites during her KBF appearance, as well as songs from her new album My Reality.
The Pulse Chamber Orchestra, led by world-renowned conductor and fellow City of Logan resident Dane Lam, will accompany two of Dami’s songs.
Also on the star-studded entertainment bill is local artist Zeek Power, who’s become a favourite of Eats & Beats regulars.
Logan City Council has transformed the historic Kingston Butter Factory into a world class cultural precinct, now home to the city’s largest purpose-built outdoor events space.
The outdoor precinct also includes the popular Devon Pixies Tea House, which is now open.
The Logan City Historical Museum, the Living Museum of Logan and the Blackbox Theatre will also open at KBF soon.
City Lifestyle Chair Councilor Laurie Koranski says the year’s first Eats & Beats event will be a night to remember.
“With Dami Im headlining, this is a phenomenal line-up for the first Eats & Beats event at our fabulous, reimagined Kingston Butter Factory.”
“Dami is a wonderful local success story and I urge everyone to come along to celebrate her achievements and hopefully be inspired to chase their own dreams.
“The KBF is a new era for entertainment in the City of Logan and this not-to-be missed Eats & Beats is just a taste of things to come for this fantastic new cultural precinct.”
Division 2 Councilor Teresa Lane says Eats & Beats is another great community event helping to launch the revamped Kingston Butter Factory precinct.
“Our local community has kicked off the new year in style having already celebrated the first of the new monthly Milky Way Markets at the Kingston Butter Factory, as well as Waitangi Day earlier this month.”
“Eats & Beats is a great City of Logan event that is hugely popular with Division 2 families and the broader community. I can’t wait to see it celebrated here in our backyard.”
Food and drink will be available for purchase from a range of food trucks from 5pm, with favourites such as Rustic Pastel, Jungle Bean, Twisted Tasty Tatoes and Bao Time, rolling up for the party.
Eats & Beats is a free community event, but attendees must register on the Logan Arts website. Proof of vaccination will be required on entry.
The Kingston Butter Factory is at 270 Jacaranda Avenue, Kingston.
Admission is free to the bi-monthly Eats & Beats musical and entertainment extravaganza.
More information on the event is also available on the Eats & Beats Facebook page.
