Increasing traffic volume putting pressure on M1

A major $100 million project has begun at the Yatala South interchange at exit 41 on the M1.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey says growing population and increasing traffic volume are putting pressure on many interchanges, which were built 25 years ago.

He says this and other upgrades to the M1 are necessary to make travel safer between Logan City and the Gold Coast.
