Logan City authorities are investigating an ‘intense fire’ that engulfed a Logan Central home over the weekend, causing even the neighbours to flee their homes, after it was deemed suspicious.

Emergency Services were called to the home on Albert St at Logan Central just before midnight on Sunday, April 4.

Logan House Fire Support Network founder Louie Naumovski was on scene and said thankfully the two people who lived there were not inside at the time of the fire.

“The house has suffered significant damage,” Mr Naumovski said.

“Neighbouring premises have been evacuated due to the intense fire.

“The mother and her adult son weren’t home and are actually in the process of moving out.

“It’s been deemed suspicious, and they didn’t have any insurance.”

By just after 2am Monday April 5, the fire had been contained and was ‘under control’.

It is believed the fire began in the kitchen area and spread quickly.
