Logan City police are continuing their crackdown on unsafe driving behaviour..
Last Friday and Saturday officers conducted 913 random breath tests, with four motorists charged for drink driving offences.
Police also issued 10 traffic infringement notices (TINs) for offences including driving a defective vehicle, driving with ground clearance less than allowed and modifying vehicle silencing devices.
Officers patrolling the Pacific Motorway in Daisy Hill, also detected a motorist allegedly travelling at 128km/h in a 100km/h zone. The 36-year-old man was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driver’s license and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on the 29th of this month.
And a 27-year-old Underwood woman was charged with driving while unlicensed and is due to appear in the same court the day before the man.
Sergeant Jason Robertson said police will continue to have a significant presence on Logan roads.
“We’ve had a number of fatalities on our local roads already his year, and we urge motorists to think about the potential consequences that their actions may have if they are not full focussed on driving safely.
“Motorists should expect to see a significant police presence on our roads over the coming months.”
