Charlie Murrihy, from Daisy Hill, has been busy raising money to buy Christmas presents for Logan City children who would otherwise go without to leave under the Kmart Christmas tree.
The 9 year old’s mother, Jody Murrihy, said she was extremely proud of her daughters giving nature.
“Charlie is always looking for ways to help others. It’s just in her nature,” she said.
“It all started when we went to Kmart recently and Charlie first saw the big Christmas tree there and asked me what it was for.
“I explained to her that locals leave presents there because some kids don’t get Christmas presents. Especially since it’s been a really tough year with Covid and lots of people losing jobs.
“She was horrified and insisted we do something to raise money to buy presents so every kid gets something.”
In the end Charlie was able to raise $280 to leave 23 presents under the Kmart Christmas tree.
Her mother said she was extremely proud.
“I’m sure next year she will come up with a bigger and better plan,” she said.
