Logan Police ramp up patrols over break

Logan Police will have an increased presence in the area over Christmas and New Years, to ensure that the local community celebrates safely.

Police will be conducting high-volume covert and overt road safety enforcement activities would continue throughout the Christmas break in the hope all Queensland drivers make it home safe these holidays.

Senior Constable Jen Wallis says local police will be busy.

“Besides our normal business and attending jobs, there will be some large operations that will be running.

“There will be run through the whole district, all at different times, when you don’t expect us to be there, we will be there setting up, especially with RBTs.”

Snr. Const. Wallis says it is important motorists drive to the conditions.

“We’re going to get a lot of storms coming through summer, so be weary of the wet roads, slipperiness and definitely don’t drink and drive.

“The roads are going to be more congested with holiday users, so it is important to be patient, abide by the rules and we should have a really good Christmas.”

While most local stations will be operational, only the two major 24/7 stations at Logan Central and Beenleigh will be open on Christmas Day for over the counter services.
