Loganholme almost out of the woods: Young

Health authorities said fragments of coronavirus, found recently at the Loganholme sewage treatment plant, does not mean that the city had any new cases of the coronavirus.

Queensland’s chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said the detections were being treated with absolute caution, although it appeared that so far, widespread community transmission had been avoided.

“We’ve still got a few more days to go before we can be totally confident that we haven’t had any spread,” she said. “But it is very, very good news.”

In late December, routine tests returned positive results of viral fragments of COVID-19 in wastewater at the Loganholme water treatment plant.
